Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars.

Saturday, February 09, 2013

After searching endlessly for over a week, I finally found a recipe for peanut butter chocolate chip granola bars. It's a winner. They were gone in 2 days. I mean that must mean something tasted okay, right?

They're even better than Nature's Valley or Chewy Bars. (Is that possible?)

If you're like me, you may have trouble even getting these cooked. The dough is like the nectar of the gods.

Okay, seriously guys. This is not a drill. Go make these. They're homemade, unprocessed,(fairly) healthy, and delicious. And they take less than 30 minutes to make and bake.

Don't forget you can add chocolate and peanut butter chips. Sold yet? If not, then teach me your ways. I need to cut back on these already!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars

·         1 cup of oats plus 2/3 cup of Crispy Rice cereal
·         1/3 cup honey
·         1/4 cup brown sugar
·         1/3 cup whole wheat flour
·         1/2 tsp salt
·         1 tsp vanilla extract
·         1/4 cup fat of choice (Uh, peanut butter of course!)
·         1 1/2 cup of chips of choice (I used chocolate and peanut butter ones!)

Melt the peanut butter and honey, but everything else can just be mixed in no particular order!

I baked them at 350 for about 10 minutes in a greased 9X13 glass pan, but my oven's small, so you may want to add cooking time accordingly!

If you're like me and eat them after basketball practice, you may just feel like closing your eyes is necessary.
