On That Green Smoothie Bandwagon.

Monday, May 20, 2013

I may or may not be the last person to join the Green Smoothie bandwagon. Even though I've read countless posts written by bloggers claiming you can't taste any of the greens in a green smoothie, I was always reluctant to try one. I mean spinach in a banana smoothie?

Today, I humbly come to you a new blogger. A new blogger that has just finished her 4th green smoothie and has become one of those bloggers that will tell you that you can't taste the greens in a green smoothie. A blogger that has finished a whole bag of spinach in 3 days.

I guess you could say Green Smoothies have won me over. I'm one of those people that's not a huge fan of eating huge salads or side dishes that are solely vegetables, so why not eat my veggies in a smoothie that tastes like dessert?

Why not indeed. If you haven't tried a Green Smoothie in your lifetime, please hop on the bandwagon right now. Don't let the greens and unusual color turn you off! If you drink this with your eyes closed, you would never know there was any vegetables in it at all. Vegetables that taste like dessert? Dreams do come true.

Banana and Spinach Smoothie
Serves: 1
Prep Time: 5 minutes (or 10 if you can't find the spinach like me!)

Ingredients:
  • 1 frozen banana (a sprinkle of cinnamon on top tastes lovely too!)
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 3 ice cubs
  • 1 cup of almond milk

Directions:

Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend, blend, blend, blend!

Not quite sold on the Green Smoothie? Never Fear!

Try my Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie. It's normal colored and full of peanut buttery goodness!

    1. Thank you! :) I'm honestly a little scared to go all out on the veg. Right now I'm just so excited that I don't notice the spinach, that I'm stopping while I'm ahead. Maybe one day I'll expand...
