So Where Was I Last Weekend?

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

This past weekend my family took a little trip to Austin, Texas. Besides the fact that I was taking my first trip of the summer, I bought new running shoes. Is there anything more exciting than new shoes?

Anyways, our trip consisted of about 5 hours of viewing a road that looks like the one above. Texas is pretty, but the roads on the trip start to run together a bit.

We arrived at our hotel at dinnertime where we were greeted with a snack basket! Instead of enjoying the little snack, however, we laced up our tennis shoes and decided to go exploring.

My Mom heard there was a 'little' concert at a place called Shady Grove, so we made our way to see what the hype was all about.

What we thought would be a small concert actually turned out to be a jam-packed bar and restaurant concert!

It was so full that we couldn't even tell who was playing, so we decided to go to Book People and see if we could pick up something to read.

Instead of looking at all the books, I ended up at the little cafe inside.

Book People also showed me that I belong in Austin. I'm way too obsessed with Sherlock Holmes, so my Mom and I were giddy when we found this!

I've decided that Davy Crockett can probably end this post better (and in a more crude manner) than I could! In between my plethora of new recipes, I'll give you my little unofficial tour of Austin and the details of my leadership conference!

Your Turn!

    1. YES! JESSIE! Okay I may be freaking out too much, but my whole family is obsessed with Benedict Cumberbatch and the Sherlock series. Seriously we are dying at how slow it is taking BBC to create the next season. Also, no judging going on regarding the underwear. Maybe just a little jealousy!

Benedict's in that and was amazing. Plus all the guys in that are adorable (and my bf wondered why I wanted to see it so bad.. hahahah)

    1. For now I'm still keeping them! Eventually I'll throw them away. They used to be white, but now they're this weird grayish/black. Not very pretty anymore!
