Tuesday Ten: Everything Fall!

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

I've been scouring the internet for anything Fall lately. My fall decorating/baking/fashion game has been nothing short of sub par lately. I'm quite behind on fall decorating, Halloween costume ideas, and pumpkin baking (and anything else Fall related for that matter)! Below are 10 tips to help you learn from my mistakes and fully embrace Fall!

1. Add Some Sparkle: Adding glitter to anything usually vastly improves it. Fall decor does not fall short of this expectation.

Glitter pumpkins.

Aren't glitter pumpkins the cutest?

2. The Halloween Costume Dilemma: Let's skip being a sexy watermelon for Halloween, shall we?

3. Layer it Up: Get cozy and stay warm all whilst looking fashionable. It's a dream come true!

4. Munch on this: While pumpkin recipes dominate the Fall food world, try and Autumn Green Salad with Orange Vinaigrette instead. It won't disappoint.

Autumn Green Salad with Orange Vinaigrette
Salads shouldn’t be limited to the summer season. In this version, a tangy dressing of Valencia orange juice and balsamic vinegar tops hearty greens and flavorful blue cheese to make the perfect starter for your autumn meal.
SERVINGS: 4
TIME TO TABLE:15 minutes prep
INGREDIENTS:4 cups mixed lettuce1 cup finely shredded kale4 oz. crumbled blue cheese½ cup pomegranate arils½ cup walnut halves¼ cup thinly sliced red onion 2 oz. Paramount Citrus Valencia orange juice2 cloves garlic, peeled2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil1 tablespoon honey1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar¼ teaspoon sea salt
PREPARATION 1. In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, kale, blue cheese, pomegranate arils, walnuts and red onion.
2. Place the orange juice, garlic, olive oil, honey, vinegar and salt in the bowl of a small food processor. Pulse until all ingredients are finely chopped and a thin dressing has formed.
3. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to coat. Divide into 4 portions and serve right away.

5. Goody Two Shoes: Lace it up! My favorite type of fall shoe are boots! Is it possible to be in love with shoes? Cause I am.

6. Buy a Pumpkin: Nothing brings in Fall quite like having your own pumpkin. We buy our pumpkins at a local pumpkin patch.

6. Have a Cuppa: Warm the soul and give yourself a happy tummy. It's especially nice before bed!

7. Look Up: Have you seen the moon lately? Take a moment to look up tonight. There's been a gorgeous full moon out.

.

8. Play in the Leaves: Nobody has to know...I know you want to.

9. Take a Stroll: Walking in the crisp air surrounded by leaves that are changing colors has to be one of the most beautiful things one can possibly do in their lifetime.

10. Relax: Put on a cozy pair of socks, make yourself a homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte and sit back and blog awhile or watch your favorite tv show. That's what Fall's for, right?

    1. I love anything glittery, so I'd have to agree! I never thought of using pumpkins for advertising. That's genius! When my mom went to Colorado a few weeks ago, she went to Celestial Seasonings. She got me a t shirt and loads of tea. It's probably the best place on earth!

  9. Yum to that orange vinaigrette! Those sparkly pumpkins are adorable. I need some new comfy sweaters and boots pronto. Haha. Love the "phases" of the moon.

Cozy socks are a must right now! I need a few more pairs from home though as I had to wear my green-white stripe ones more than once this week. :( No shame.
