Thankful Thursday!

Thursday, November 21, 2013

Thanksgiving is a week from today. What? Wasn't it just Halloween a few days ago?

I love how Thanksgiving is a time to step back and really think about how blessed we are. When I was little, my mom would help my brother and I make 'Thankful Turkeys' where we would write what we were thankful for.

Now that I'm a little older and hardly have enough time to tie my own shoes, making my own 'Thankful Turkey' is out of the question. So, writing is the only eloquent way I know how to say what I'm truly thankful for, so here I go!

I'm thankful for...the South Texas sunset. Even though it's November 21 and we've yet to get any Autumn-like weather here, the sunset almost makes me okay with that.

I'm thankful cat who sleeps with a teddy bear. Can it get any cuter? Here is proof that happiness is a a warm kitten.

I'm thankful for...hummus. The best parts of life are the little things i.e. hummus.

I'm thankful brother. I'm so blessed to have someone who lets me play my music in the car, someone who lets me beat him at basketball (even though he could totally just dunk on me), and someone who helps me with my math homework at incredibly inconvenient times.

I'm thankful for...the early morning when the moon is still out. It's a privilege to get to watch the sun rise.

I'm thankful for...fruit. Seriously, what would I do without it? I would not be a very happy camper without my morning banana smoothies and afternoon apples.

I'm thankful for...running shoes and legs that can run. I get so frustrated when I have a bad run or when I just don't want to run at all, but when I step back and think about it, I'm so blessed to even have the ability to run.

Last but not least, I'm thankful for...the fact that the weekend is just a mere day away. Si se puede!

I hope everyone is having a marvelous Thursday. If not, take a step back and count your blessings. You'll be surprised at just how many you have!
