You'll Be Happy After You Read This Post.

Hiiii friends.

 ☆ gypsy/indie blog ☆
This is my first weekend of Spring Break, and I woke up this morning without an alarm. Waking up naturally, without an alarm made me feel like I completely understood the definition of bliss. It was one of those surreal moments where I was like, "Wow, it really is the little things in life!" I'm being so cliche right now, but after 5:30 AM wake up calls for months, waking up after 10 was amazing.

Anyways, this whole 'finding happiness in the smallest of things' really got my brain going. (I know, it's Spring Break, but I'm not letting my brain go dormant. Crazy, right?) Why are humans always so seemingly unhappy? Happiness is a choice, so why do we always choose to be unhappy? Because if you step back and think about it, there's so many reasons to find joy in the ordinary.

so you want to be happy? here's how: J

First things first, you have to smile while reading this. Why? Because:

If you don't feel like wearing makeup; don't. You're young, you're beautiful, and it's okay to skip            mascara tomorrow morning.

Know that it's okay to really love yourself. Think you look good in that dress? More power to you. Even though you may not look like a Victoria's Secret model or that girl in a magazine, it's okay to love and respect yourself. You deserve it.

Do what makes you happy. This phrase is so overused, but the importance of it is vital. Chase after your dreams. Those who are crazy enough to dream big and chase even the craziest of dreams are the movers and shakers of the world.

Drink a cup of tea or have some fruit while reading a book. It's hard to be unhappy when you are feeding your mind and nourishing your soul.

Do nothing for a whole day. Shower until you're pruney, stay in your towel until the afternoon, sing way too loud, sleep late, read a book start to finish in one sitting, pretend you momentarily have no responsibilities; It's okay to occasionally do absolutely nothing that's productive.

Call someone on the phone and actually talk instead of texting.

Don't fret about the future. Right when you think you have life all planned out, it has a funny way of throwing a curve ball at you. Life has a funny way of working out in the end, whether you worry about it or not.

Know that every day is a brand new day. You are under no obligation to be the person who you were yesterday or even 5 minutes ago. You don't have to wait for a new year/birthday/special event to start brand new. Every day is a clean slate, and you grow every second.

Don't wish your years away. I admit I've said things like, "I'll be happy once I'm in college," or, "I can't wait until I leave this town," nut the truth is, a month from now you probably won't remember this precise moment in time. Life is fleeting. You are getting older every second. You are the oldest and youngest you've ever been. Relish every moment, even the bad ones.

Appreciate you parents. I know some of you don't have a clue how this will make you happy, but cherish them. Yes, they can be annoying, but hug them, memorize the little things you love about them, remember the jokes they tell, and the sound of their laughs. One day those will be the happy times you reminisce about.

Go for a walk. Walk on asphalt or on a lovely nature trail. Either way, just go for a walk. Don't take your phone or play loud music on it, just be alone with your thoughts and nature.

Fall in love with as many things as possible. Love your family, your friends, that pair of shoes, the way the summer breeze feels, the first signs of spring, buying your favorite food, finishing your homework, cleaning your room, that post-workout feeling, fall in love with life in general.

Know that it's okay to be lonely sometimes. Everyone feels lonely at some point or other.

kate & wills  It's okay to be sad. Sometimes the trick to being happy is understanding that it's okay to be unhappy, and you will be unhappy at times. Be open to happiness and sadness.

Tell someone "I love you." Not 'love you' or 'ily'. Adding the 'I' in front of 'love you' gives it whole new depth and meaning

Last but not least, remember that Kate Middleton had a poster of Prince William on her wall in high school. Anything can happen. Just have faith.

You are in charge of your life. You are in charge of the way your feel. Today is a good day to have a good day. Have a lovely week, and remember to choose happiness! xx
