3 Ingredient Pineapple Smoothie.

Thursday, June 12, 2014

It's not secret that I'm obsessed with smoothies.

While I usually stick to my classic nana smoothie (as seen over a million times on my instagram), what's a girl supposed to do when she has a lot of pineapples?

As the old saying goes, "When life gives you pineapples, slice them up, freeze them, then blend them."

Or maybe I just made that up. But it's a good idea.

In all honesty, I had no idea how to make a pineapple smoothie. Does almond milk taste good with pineapple? Should I add other fruits? Will pineapples hide the taste of spinach or kale? I guess you could say I was a little doubtful. (Okay, a LOT doubtful.)

I decided to use only 3 ingredients, and luckily the odds were in my favor. (I sound like I'm really smart and innovative, but I really don't think anyone could go wrong with just 3 ingredients.)

3 ingredient pineapple smoothie

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of frozen pineapple slices
  • 1 cup of water
  • Handful of greens (I used spinach)
Blend all the ingredients until smooth.

Easiest smoothie eva. And it tastes like Summer (whatever that means!)

Have you seen the fault in our stars?
do you have a favorite smoothie?

My favorite smoothie is raspberry banana <3
I read TFIOS and it was sooo sad. I made the mistake of reading during a free period in history and had to put the book down to avoid sobbing.

    1. I cried like a child reading it. Ugh my emotions are still all over the place when it comes to that book/movie. I love raspberry banana too! It's one of my personal favs, but it always looks so unappetizing once I add all my greens!

  7. No milk?! No banana?! Me like. But seriously, you had 4 pineapples at your house?! There hasn't even been one in my house for.. I don't know, a few years. haha. The only smoothie I really drink is the typical green one - I can't resist adding greens! I haven't seen TFIOS yet but I read the book. ugh. Definitely cried.

    1. I'm a banana enthusiast, so I'm actually surprised at how much I like smoothies without them! I went years without pineapple, and I recently bought one at the Farmer's Market and loved it. Now I buy a few at a time and freeze them for later! And ugh. The tears I shed could fill an ocean.
