What's Winter?

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

A few days after Christmas, we decided to drive to the beach. After (foolishly) hoping that it might snow in South Texas during Christmas Time, I finally admitted defeat and decided to embrace winter or the lack thereof.

Though the temperatures haven't been below 65, the water was pretty cold, so the beach was fairly empty (except for the occasional elderly couple with a small dog).

If you've been living in a wintery wonderland lately, join me for a few minutes and escape to the beach and the land of endless summer weather.

Fun fact: I'm in the United States in this picture, specifically Texas. The two people and car behind me are in Mexico. The river is the international border and because of the calm water and sandbar in the middle of it, you could walk back and forth between countries that morning.

When there's no snow to be found for a hundred miles, sand is a close second best.

"Ah, the smell of salt and sand. There is no elixir on this blessed earth like it." I hope your last Tuesday of 2014 is full of sand or snow or something beautiful.

Sometimes that's a hot summer day here :) All of these pictures are beautiful. Especially the one with you + your mom. SO CUTE. And STARFISH? omg. Can I come visit you plz?
