I Think I'll Go To Austin

Saturday, March 28, 2015

I've considered quite a few colleges over the last few months, but the lack of Whole Foods in those college towns proved to be a deal breaker. Basically, I chose my future college because there's a Whole Foods 5 minutes away from campus. Okay, I'm actually just kidding. Kinda.

All jokes aside, after looking at colleges in Indiana, Oregon, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Missouri, Washington and everywhere in between, I've found that sometimes what you want is right on your doorstep. (Well in my case, 5 hours from my doorstep, but that's considered close to home when you live in Texas.)

Sometimes it's really fun not having your life figured out. I've liked the mystery of college, but sometimes it starts to weigh on you. I'm not exactly sure what possessed me, but after hours of thinking and debating, I've decided that I'll be attending McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin next fall.

I'm still a rookie when it comes to making the "Hook 'Em" sign with my hands, but I'm more concerned/excited about other things like the fact that I'll be only 101.8 miles away from my brother. Or the amount of concerts I'll be attending next year. Or the amount of man buns that are in Austin. Or all the studying I'll be doing @mom :-)

"Then, she began to breathe and live, and every moment took her to a place where goodbyes were hard to come by. She was in love, but not in love with someone or something, she was in love with her life, and for the first time, in a long time, everything was inspiring."

    1. Ah Liz don't start stressing so early!! You got this. My biggest tip is probably just have a general idea of where you want to go, and don't be afraid to be picky. I was really open when it came to college, and I really didn't want to narrow anything down. That's all fun and games until you actually need to make a decision. So I guess my biggest tip is don't settle. There's a school out there for you, and I KNOW you will find it :-) Also, I'm so excited about your half marathon coming. 6 days!!

  8. Yay yay yay! And Whole Foods is definitely a major consideration for college choosing. The place I will probably go is even farther from a Whole Foods than I am now, but hey.. I've already made it this long, what's a few more years? ;)

Can we plan a trip before you go off?? Like I'm serious. Either you're coming here or I'm coming there. This needs to happen.

    1. I've never lived close to a Whole Foods, so it's hard to miss something you've never really known. That being said, I AM SO PUMPED to live like 3 miles away from one. Life. Goals. Anyways, we NEED to meet and hang out. And Sunnie too. And have some massive blog meetup. I'm dead serious.

    1. 1980??? I never knew that. I need to up my Whole Foods knowledge seeing as I'll be living where it was INVENTED within the next year. It seriously is a game changer though!
